Learn about the evolution of garden and the new garden’s revitalization plan—the largest such renovation effort in the museum’s history. Now entering its sixth decade, the Hirshhorn is a leading voice for contemporary art and culture and provides a global platform for the art and artists of current times. Located in the heart of Washington, D.C., on the National Mall, the Hirshhorn is free to all. As one of the most visited modern art museums in the US, the museum seeks to share the transformative power of modern and contemporary art by creating meaningful personal experiences in which art, artists, audiences, and ideas converge.
