For more than 25 years, Bill Caine has worked as a fine arts specialist for the federal governments Art in Architecture program at the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) in Washington, D.C. In this lecture, Bill will discuss the history of GSAs Fine Arts Collection and present some examples of the commissioned projects by leading American artists that are installed and on view at federal buildings in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and hundreds of other locations nationwide. Among the artworks featured will be Ellsworth Kellys Boston Panels (1998), Alice Aycocks Swing Over (2004) and Jean Shins Dress Code (2008) in Baltimore, Catherine Opies Yosemite Falls (2016) in Los Angeles, and Alyson Shotzs Robes of Justitia (2021) in Nashville.
