Hybrid in-person and online program via Zoom
Cellist Evan Drachman will discuss and perform two of the great masterpieces for cello, Suite No.2 in d minor and Sonata No.3 in A Major. He will touch on the importance of these works in the cello’s repertoire, the wide-ranging gamut of emotions expressed, and a personal view of performance traditions. In the words of Drachman’s grandfather, “No matter how hard one strives, the music remains above you. Perhaps if I lived a thousand years, I would know half of what they have to offer!” - cellist, Gregor Piatigorsky
