MEMBERS' DAY TRIP: NYC: The Whitney Biennial and Beyond!

  • Whitney Museum of American Art 99 Gansevoort Street New York, NY 10014 (map)

IN-PERSON PROGRAM

The Whitney Biennial and Beyond!

The Whitney Biennial is the longest-running survey of American art, and has been a hallmark of the museum since 1932. Join the Art Seminar Group for a bus trip to NYC to tour the eighty-second edition of the Biennial. The exhibition features work of 56 artists, duos, and collectives that reflects the current moment and examines various forms of relationality, including interspecies kinships, familial relations, geopolitical entanglements, technological affinities, shared mythologies, and infrastructural supports. The Whitney Biennial 2026 offers a vivid atmospheric survey of contemporary American art shaped by a moment of profound transition. Rather than offering a definitive answer to life today, this Whitney Biennial foregrounds mood and texture, inviting visitors into environments that evoke tension, tenderness, humor, and unease. Together, the works capture the complexity of the present and propose imaginative, unruly, and unexpected forms of coexistence. After viewing the Whitney, members can explore nearby galleries, the Chelsea Market, Little Island, Pier 57 or the High Line on their own.

Snacks, a box supper, and wine will be provided during travel.

Members-only registration through February 28, open to subscribers and guests if trip is not full on March 1 (limited to 50 people). Fee $220 for members; $235 for non-members. Full refund before March 4. No refund after March 4. Group will depart from Meadowood Regional Park Parking Lot and leave NYC at 3:30 to return to Baltimore.
