IN-PERSON PROGRAM
Crosscurrents: Now Amy Sherald American Sublime
Cecilia Wichmann, Curator and Department Head of Contemporary Art
Since the BMA is presenting Amy Sherald: American Sublime in the Contemporary Wing from November 2, 2025 through April 5, we will have a curatorial auditorium talk focused on the Amy Sherald exhibition instead of Crosscurrents, which will go back on view Spring 2026. Following the lecture members will be able to tour the exhibition to see the work in person. The exhibition tells the story of Sherald’s vision and practice through approximately 40 paintings created from 2007 to the present—from her early, rarely seen works to her iconic, larger-than-life portraits of Black Americans in everyday moments.
Members-only, registration required (limited to 40 people).
